The Front Door at Grocer's Inn

So far I can remember, I seldom or didn't #cafehop with my friends for the last uni semester. YES, the last here means LAST because I have finally graduated! It was quite a busy one, well definitely not because of the hectic subjects, but more to planning/doing research for travels and spending my own sweet time at home.

Going to Chinatown or also known as Petaling Street brings back a lot of memories. The familiar area where I will pass by after schools, from primary-secondary-pre-u. Things are different right now as there are so many coffee shops in this area! Back then this culture is not that popular yet.

The Front Door is located at Jalan Sultan, which is easily spotted when you walk down from the alley which connects to Wesley Methodist Church, SMK Confucian, MABA and BP House.

We arrived early in the day (before lunch hour) so we got a table without having to wait. The tables are limited but the place is quite spacious. I prefer this as I don't really like a shop to be cramped with tables in order to bring in more business (to serve more customers at a time). If the food is good with great ambiance, no need to worry about customers not coming back next time or not willing to wait.

and soon after......

The time we went, they were serving soft launch menu. Not sure about now, I guess that is a good reason to drop-by again!

Prawn and Mango Salad - RM17
Lightly grilled prawn, sweet mango and cucumber salad tossed with spicy lime mint vinaigrette and topped with roasted sesame almond.

The Front Door Signature Toasts
1 slice - RM6
Set of 3 slices - RM18
Set of 5 slices - RM25

Below are the five choices that we picked!

Cream Cheese/Cucumber Ribbon/Smoked Salmon/Capers

Peanut Butter/Caramelised Banana

Mozzarella/Green Apple/Almonds/Salted Caramel

Cream Cheese/Asparagus/Sautéed Mushroom/Hard-Boiled Egg

We spent some quality time there while enjoying our food. There are some other items that I wish to try when I go back next time! A suggestion for you, you might want to head there during weekdays (in the morning) as a friend of mine who is working there told me during weekends, there is always a crowd outside even before the cafe is opened.
